As a kid, Eric Wanchic couldn't afford a game console — so he built his own version of Space Invaders instead. That instinct, to build the thing rather than buy it, became a thirty-year career. Entirely self-taught, he moved from curiosity to production systems that run under real stakes.
Twenty of those years were spent architecting healthcare software: three HIPAA-compliant Electronic Health Record systems, and an HL7 API built for Blue Cross Blue Shield's immunization-data exchange. Work where an outage isn't an inconvenience — it's a problem measured in patient care.
Gratiel Technologies is the current, focused form of a consulting practice that has run continuously since July 2012 — the same engineering discipline, now aimed squarely at the websites small businesses actually need.
